ECNL has to be seriously considering whacking BRYC. There is just not a single age group that is even slightly competitive. The Loudoun stuff is just poppycock. ECNL knew the older teams would not be terribly successful but the younger teams would likely retain their talent and remain competitive and that is proving true.

Same would go for Arlington. Their younger teams are doing just fine.

The GDA was nothing but the ECNL rebranded.

They literally took all the ECNL clubs and rebranded them GDA…implemented a age change to align with international rules and subsequently there it in the trash. The power struggle caused the over saturation that you see in this area.

I’m case you haven’t noticed….ECNL is still around. GDA is Gone. Everything touched by US Soccer is trash

The ECNL is far far from perfect but the good riddance to the GDA. They come in with the authority of US soccer and roll out another super expensive, over priced, over travel, league that addresses virtually none of the issues of the pay-to-play league we already had. And the crapped all over school ball as well which, for all it's faults, in the one low-cost option available.

What a disappointment and a wasted opportunity that was.

One thing for sure, if the GA collapses there will be another set of carpetbaggers forming a new league to take parent’s money. Meet the new league, same as the old league.

Top players to ODP I mean.

I love the idea of redistributing the power and money to USYS. State Cup and ODP used to be the real deal 15 years ago. Thousands of teams going for a National Championship with the top best of those in ODP. ODP would be like and offshoot version of the DA if done correctly. Probably would even kill ECNL after about 5 to 10 years.

Whatever, it will never happen though. They will figure out another way to squander the opportunity.
