My DH was telling this story last night to some friends: when DS was in kindergarten he had a friend over for a playdate. The kid was super destructive and screaming— which ok, he was 5. However, he also used foul language - I think he may have used the F word if I recall, and when his mom came to pick him up he kept talking her to “shut up” and she just acted like it was totally normal. Never had that kid over again.

OMG I experienced this too! Kid was 4, though, and clearly trying to get his mother's attention. She cooed ands aid he was tired and had been gone all day. WTF?! MY DH and I left wondering if this is what people mean when they say boys are different than girls?

My 3.5 year old only does it and every time I stop and have him ask politely and tell him no one likes it, I tried telling him people will kick him out their house or that there’s germs or even took his food so he would see how it feels. Please please tell me how to fix this so you don’t think badly of my kid bc I also hate it.

Does he eat in preschool?

OP here we pulled him from daycare at barely 2 when pandemic started and has been with us at home since so it’s all relaying on us. I will keep trying but just know We’re trying not to raise a spoiled kid

Maybe she’s just accident prone, but it just seems like she just doesn’t care. Last time she was here she drew on my breakfast table. It washed off, but still annoying.

Writing on a table is not an accident. That kid would never be welcome at my home anymore.

The worst are kids whose parents treat them like they are better than everyone else. I have this one friend and her son is treated like he is a prince. She never admits he does anything wrong or has any flaws. Meanwhile she passive aggressively jabs at my kid all the time. I avoid her.

Teach him impulse control in many areas, not just good. So, just because he sees something and he wants it, he’s not always allowed to have it. A good example might be to bake cupcakes with him for dinner, but bake them in the morning. Make it about the fun of baking and frosting, etc. Then, keep them out of sight until dinner. Regular situations like that will teach him more patience and impulse control. Such valuable gifts to give him.

This is a thing? What grade? I'm genuinely shocked.

Immediate consequence, both positive and negative depending on what he does.
