When I was that age I seem to remember a feeling that love was super rare, like finding a diamond and once you found it you couldn’t be careless with it because this might be may be the last chance you would ever have. Fast forward about 20 years and I have only recently come to realize that someone else could love me and I could love them very easily.

Most men are far more physically attractive in their mid to late 20’s than in their late 30’s.

The best men and women get married in their 20's - early 30's. Any guy who's still single at 35 almost always has major issues.

OP, you sound like a guy who wasn't desirable in HS or college, and now you're hoping that the smaller dating pool when you're older makes you more desirable.

Not everyone likes “the fun single life.” People fall in love and want to get married.

My husband was ready to marry in his early twenties (proposed when he was 23) because his parents married young and he liked what he saw

Yeah but their sperm quality is really, really bad. For example, sperm banks stop accepting donations after 35 at the LATEST. So if you want the best kids, you need to have it with a younger man. Or you need to get a woman pregnant young, if youre the man.

So you're saying an older woman should have kids with a man under 35 and a guy over 35 should have kids with a 20 something? So what is the best kid? So many kids now have all kinds of weird allergies unheard of when I was a kid. Also many are autistic and these kids were produced by younger women.

If you are looking forward to being a father, the "fun single life" gets old WAY before you mid-late 30s. If you're not that into the idea of starting a family, delaying (and actually never having kids) is the right move. But lots of men sincerely want to have kids.

Image, I find the type of guy described in OP is obsessed with image, and the married guy with kids is part of that image.

Mid to late twenties isn’t going. Ten years later on the other hand, is old, but has just become more mainstream.

Why wouldn't they?

DH was 25 when we got married, I was 27. He is very goal oriented and I think wanted a partner to support him in reaching his goals (among, of course, other things).

Everyone I knew who did this had religious beliefs in play driving them towards marriage, often to sanctify things they had already done. (This wasn’t a conservative religious bunch—mid-90s mainline Protestant-affiliated liberal arts college.)
