If daughter wants a mid-sized school, then NOT Arizona State. (We're an ASU family. but that's far from "mid-sized.")

I'd suggest schools in NC or SC. I am assuming NC State would be too large, but something to consider. Elon definitely is the right size, although I'm not sure about co-op opportunities. NC State has co-ops, not a big party scene (not in the 90s, at least), good weather.

University of Arizona would be a much better fit than Arizona State.

Thank you! I never heard of Rollins before. It looks maybe too small, and way too wealthy! but at least I can mention it to her and she will know I am taking her desire for warm weather seriously.

My daughter considered Stetson. DeLand is a cute little town. But it’s a little rural if the OP’s daughter wants a city. OP - University of North Florida in Jacksonville fits your criteria. It’s such a beautiful school. My daughter had a lazy river at her dorm. Lots of sunshine!

Utah, CO, NM, Nevada, CA south of Monterey all have great sunshine. (Even when snowy Utah is bright and cheerful unlike, say, Ohio)

Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles seems to fit your DD’s requests perfectly. If she’s a top student, Occidental is another great choice as well as a Claremont College. All are socially involved and not huge party schools.

Nothing is more beautiful that UNSB but it’s big and a definite party school AND hard to get into out of state.
