My only question would be around how to bring the gifts back. People like to see you with the gift they purchased. That can add up. Not everyone will buy something online to be delivered. Is there a plan for another relative to transport them back to your place?
Actually, people are happy to see just the sentiment instead. I usually buy a cute baby bag/gift wrap and put a lightweight onesie and printouts of the items I sent to their house in it. That way an 8 months pregnant woman has about 7 oz. tops to carry. Their is still the awwww! factor with the card and unwrapping.
Would you be able to do an outdoor park pavilion 2.5 hours (1/2way there) away? Many people including sneezing pregnant women have bladder issues 5 hours long.
Would you be able to ask in-laws if there is a hotel 2.5 hours on the way there? You could go to the hotel. Drive to the shower, party for 2 hours, come back and eat. Then the next morning drive home.
