I am having great difficulty with Naviance since it doesn't show the results from test optional students.
Plus, the info doesn’t seem to be accurate.
My kid has a lot of older friends currently in college. We’re seeing scattergrams that show zero acceptances at schools where he knows kids from his school currently attend.
Most high schools use minimum settings so that if there are too few data points, they will not be displayed, to avoid people being identified.
Plus, sometimes just not accurate for whatever reason, as Naviance relies on students or counselors to input results.

I am having great difficulty with Naviance since it doesn't show the results from test optional students.
To clarify this, Naviance DOES show the results if the student had a score, but it does not indicate that the student did not submit the score. This has always been the case, as even before test optional, students might have both SAT and ACT and only submitted the better one, but their data point would still show up on the scattergram for the test they did not submit.

Very generally, 15k is about the cost of room and board alone at many schools. You'd be looking for full tuition to be covered by financial aid (try the school's Net Price Calculator) or merit scholarship - would need a full tuition scholarship.

3.5 is consistently below midpoint which is why I’m asking where else to look.

Honestly, I suggest having the kid to live at home, take two years at NVCC, and then if your kid has a decent GPA, use the auto-admit to get into a four year state school. This also allows for a stackable cert and a better exit path in case college doesn't work out.
