Sorry but no -- I have never had Botox or lasering and that's exactly what my face looks like. Exactly. I just have really good skin, and so does she.

I'm not even invested in this but I think it's funny that people are disbelieving that it is possible for people to look like this at 50. Of course it is! Haven't you ever met a genetically blessed person IRL? My mom used to get gasps when people found out she was in her 40s and 50s because her skin was so smooth and unlined. By 60 she started to look her age (she got jowls) but at JLos age she had similar skin. Not as well moisturized. And this was all before Botox or these other procedures were a thing. Back then, having work done meant surgery -- face lifts, nip and tuck. So people knew mom mom's skin was the real deal.

But now everyone is convinced that without Botox and fillers, all 50 year old women would look like chain smoking grandmas. Sorry to break this to you, but that's not true.

And the PP who said melanin is right. It's not impossible for light skinned women to look this good at this age, but it is less likely. Melanin absolutely helps. I bet J Lo's family is full of ladies with amazing skin who look 32 well into their 50s.

I am 51 and had a few people ask if I was my 16-year old son’s sister—not in a just being nice way-/like legit. At the hospital during Covid the women at the desk stopped us and said we needed our mom and couldn’t go through without an adult. I kinda laughed said thanks—and she was dead serious. I had to show my ID. My son still laughs about that.

I’m part Italian with olive skin. My dad and paternal grandmother had unbelievably smooth skin well into their late 70s. No sunspots or creepiness and very few wrinkles. Both my parents looked nothing like they’d age—not physically in the way they moved or in their looks. When they took my kids out people always thought they were the parents, not the grandparents.

My other half is Irish and that side of the family has a lot more wrinkles, jowls.

Presumably, you were wearing a mask!

She doesn’t drink alcohol, uses a special serum that most celebrities use for face hydration. When you have the money you can pay to look flawless.

I was going to say, I'm almost 50 and the only sign of aging you'll see on me is my dark circles.

Correct answer.

Agreed. I know a handful of Af-Am women in their 50s whose skin looks just as youthful, without access to all the skin care (or the commitment to the diet/sleep/fitness) that J Lo has. So if you combine melanin with a great skin care and health regimen, the smooth and glowing skin is achievable.

This is how I look after botox and profhilo. She also had a deep plane facelift, probably only the lower part.

+2 I've heard she's incredibly disciplined about her diet/exercise/sleep. I doubt she's never had botox, but she doesn't look like she's had fillers. I would also guess she does lasers because she seems to love the sun but shows little sign of damage from it.

I think she just has good genes and takes good care of her skin. I am about 5 years younger and similarly have good skin genes -- women in my family just have really youthful looking skin until about 60 when you start to see it. It's not weight related for us, either. It's just how we age. Anyway, this is about how my skin looks now in my late 40s. Some fine lines and crepiness around the eyes, but basically nothing else except when I smile, and then it's just deeper laugh lines than I used to have. I don't have lines on my forehead or between my eyes. No neck wrinkles. And I've had no work done.

I do think she must be ahead of the game in terms of skin care. Like I said, I'm 5 years younger. I am good about retinol (I use an alternative but it has the same impact) and really good about SPF and moisture. But she glows and has always glowed. I think some of that is just natural, she's lucky. But also she clearly takes exceptional care of her skin. She's wealthy and has access to the best of everything. She has no reason to go in for fillers or Botox and I'm glad she hasn't because when you are that naturally beautiful, it would be sad to destroy it just to get rid of a few laugh lines.

That's what she looks like without makeup?! In her 50s?!

Wow. She is even better looking than I previously thought.

She posted that herself. Obviously with filters.

A good percentage of women have melanin and they don’t look like jlo! 😂
+1 to genetics (her family line) and a discipline skin care routine, tons of water, and DIET.

+2

I'm not her #1 fan, but some women have great skin genetically, and then care for it well. My skin looks like that but I'm only 45 (and have little melanin, alas).
