Infertility strained our marriage for 5 years. We looked into treatments, but I didn't want to put my body through that. Dh fell into depression. We grew apart. At some point, we decided to put the issue behind us and look into fostering to adopt. We started taking various classes together and exercising together. I soon became pregnant and our marriage became stronger. We have 3 kids now and are happy.

Why does the SAHM make a difference? SAHMs are always saying on here how busy they are with their volunteering and hobbies.

Because my identity was wrapped up in being a mom. All of my volunteer activities revolved around PTA, soccer, field hockey and dance things my kids were involved in. For over 22 years. Once the kids were gone, I had to rediscover who *I* was, outside of Larla and Larlo's mom.

Interfering MIL. I thought we would divorce. Time resolved the issue as well as me backing away from MIL. We also moved away.

Went through infertility/IVF but that was a piece of cake compared to dealing with MIL.

The loss of all passion. Realizing in your late 40s you will never have passionate sex again because your spouse just doesn't like sex anymore. Hard to deal with, there is no good solution for this.

He met a woman on AM that you have trashed here for two years?

Ah. No. Work colleague.

22 years and still going strong (I think). Navigating disagreements in parenting has been the hardest. Like when we had to deal with our child’s weight struggles when he was younger.

Agree on teenagers. My teen boys are so tough. Luckily our connection to each other has gotten us through it

Wow, sorry. We have one with special needs and it killed our marriage.
