Yeah, nothing says sexy like a 40 year old with a short, no-nonsense haircut.

1. Your long bleached hair is fried and broken.
2. Your long hair is thin and scraggly.
3. Your long hair stopped growing at your chin.

You're bitterness is far more unattractive than 1-3. Don't fool yourself. People see you.

Mine also takes longer to style when it is shorter. Wearing it shoulder length or longer is easiest for me. I tend to pull it back or wear it up and it is easier and more flattering on me than cutting it short. A chin-length bob is also easy for me, but not as flattering.

What do you mean "or pull it back"? Are you doing a half up half down with a barrette? A headband?

I think your opinion means little. I think really long hair looks awful. See?

PP you replied to. Sorry, I've lived a long time, on different continents, in various professional situations, and it's the rare woman who can pull off a very short haircut. I agree that really long hair would also look straggly if more people tried it, but usually only women who are gifted with lush hair and know it will look good, grow it out that long. It's a sort of self-selection.

Unless you have a large head for your shoulders, and a lovely bone structure, please don't try the very short hair until you're so old that it doesn't matter either way. The proportion of the head to your body (specifically the shoulders), cheekbones and jaw line will be more noticeable with short hair. You need angles and not too much face pudge to make it work. The only exception is if your very short hair will still have a lot of volume around your hair, like natural African hair, in which case the strictures don't apply.

I have always had a wash and wear pixie type hair cut. It hasn’t had any impact on my career.

You have to have an gorgeous face to pull it off or else you just look butch.

Short like shorter than a bob? No, and there's no career reason to do this.

Short like bob or shoulder length? I've done this but for time-saving reasons after having kids more than anything else. Styled shorter hair looks more professional than me throwing my long hair into a messy bun which is all I could do with it at one point.

More ladies should switch to short hair for so many other reasons.

1. Your long bleached hair is fried and broken.
2. Your long hair is thin and scraggly.
3. Your long hair stopped growing at your chin.

I have never seen any woman under 50 look better with short hair. The graduated mom bob is hideous.

Than you haven't seen the women who do look good. Btw, your opinion is just that. Meaningless. I am glad you are not in charge of women's hairstyles.
