Given they were filming in the desert, I wonder if the gun was not stored properly and some small stones got in it.
It seems like still extraordinarily bad luck. My dad had a revolver and used to keep seed shot in it to take to the target range— long story but he once shot a rat at close range with the seed shot and the rat was basically fine, which makes me think it’s extraordinarily bad luck for a small projectile coming out of what was probably a six shooter (old western) to kill someone: I don’t know if it would be significantly worse with a rifle though.
Because two people were seriously injured, it makes me suspect the gun was somehow loaded with a real round. I just can’t imagine how a blank could do it, even if there was a rock or some other projectile in it.
NP. We can all speculate all we like but the investigation into this began the second after it happened. It's not going to be a twisty conspiracy thing like the other thread about the CA couple and baby who died. There are already people over on that thread hoping this will become another true crime they can follow and salivate over. Please, let's not give them any fuel by speculating unless one is a legit expert in firearms and the use of blanks. Sorry but the tack that other thread took and the fact some true crime lovers will seize on anything to tear to shreds as a supposed conspiracy -- ugh. Ghoulish. Let's let the investigators do their work and see what they figure out.

I'm sure he's unbothered. He's a bad person.
He doesn't seem to be a very empathetic person. But there are photos of him looking totally distraught and keeled over in a parking lot. He's got a history of violence but it seems like this was a terrible accident and he's not okay.
I feel like this will be the beginning of the end for Alec Baldwin. He’s already an unstable alcoholic.
