No, your body doesn’t need carbs, and neither does your brain, no, keto does not destroy your kidneys.

Just google gluconeogenesis. Your body, in ketosis, produces glucose for your brain from ketones.

NP and too lazy to go looking, but on super low carb diets, your body manufactures them itself. If you need proof that the human body doesn’t need carbs, the existence of humans in the Arctic Circle, who survived pretty much on meat and fish (they ate plants and thus carbohydrates where available, but it’s not like the Arctic is a rich source of plant-based foods), is it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inuit_cuisine

I’m not defending a keto diet for widespread consumption - nothing could be more tedious than listening to a friend calculate macros - but no, we don’t really need carbs. They sure are tasty!

Yes,
There is only essential fats and protein no essential carbohydrates.
But people on low carb diet eat and get some carbs from vegetables.

I think keto is FINALLY on its death bed. People no longer buy that "lose weight fast" BS. It doesn't work regarding weightloss, and it's terribly unhealthy.

Demonizing fat in the 90''s was idiotic, and demonizing carbs in the 2000's was equally moronic.

No keto. I was super healthy and now have high cholesterol. Yes, I lost weight fast but lost tons of hair and have to be in medication for high cholesterol.

Do berries prevent kidney stones?
only raspberries are the one to avoid.

It's more nuanced than OP suggested.

"The jury is still out on whether a low-carbohydrate, ketosis-inducing diet is an effective and safe adjunctive therapy to insulin in type 1 diabetes. The limited published literature reports an association with weight loss and improved glycemic control and may, over the long-term, lead to reduced macrovascular and microvascular harm. However, the attendant increased risk of dyslipidemia, diabetic ketoacidosis, and hypoglycemia warrant caution, close monitoring of patients who embark on the diet, and further research."

Yes, "the jury is still out for type 1 diabetic."

No. Plus are we to take your word for it? Did they do it on obese people who then got tiny bit better results?
Did they analyze the effects of it on your liver and kidneys? So, you didn't eat sugar and it controlled your sugar levels? How surprising, need a study for that!
Plus, you are without energy unless you eat a cow! Yes, you need a whole chicken or such to get any energy.
Plus you will ruin you arteries kaput!
And your kidneys, and will have a heart attack.
But, you do you.
