I really fell in love, he claimed to be in love. He did not leave so no, it did not end up happy although I think his wife forgave him so probably they’re happy now.
He was not in love. He said that to get the sex. Men say anything for that.
Did he end it? I said iLy only because she said it and it would have been very awkward not to say it back. Plus, if I didn’t it would have likely have ended the sex. I ended it when the novelty wore off and the guilt got too much. But, yeah, it was never real love.
No, I ended it when I realized he would not be leaving his wife. I do think he loved me but he loved his family more. He kept in touch and continued to tell me he loved me for many years after I ended the sex.
Why did you end the sex? Were you married?
No, he was. I didn’t want to be an other woman indefinitely. I wanted to be a wife. Once I realized he would not leave I forced myself to. I am not really free; am just without him. Now that I know he has been telling me he loves me for years on end I don’t really envy his wife, who knew about the affair, that he refused to end.

Why do I suspect this was written by one of our bitter, cheated-upon ex-wives who feels compelled to rehash her talking points on every thread that mentions cheating?
I feel like it’s written by a friend of the OW who told her over and over and over it was not love, he was a con man and then had to pick up the pieces when he callously moved on.
You know it’s not only “bitter wives” that are sick of this sh!t.
