No, he was. I didn’t want to be an other woman indefinitely. I wanted to be a wife. Once I realized he would not leave I forced myself to. I am not really free; am just without him. Now that I know he has been telling me he loves me for years on end I don’t really envy his wife, who knew about the affair, that he refused to end.

I’m don’t envy her either. It was really shitty of you and her spouse.

I know two couples who where actively having affairs but then suddenly their spouses died so fairly quickly got married, conveniently to AP. Both sets are now in their 70s - married for decades and seem happy.

Now a contemporary/DH childhood friend married right out of college. Married for maybe 5 years, no children. He was having multiple affairs but ended up marrying his “office wife.”
This couple has been married for 10 years.

my sil married him 25 years later divorce and boy was it ugly. Day one he had someone else, he can not be alone apparently. Married 3 times

My mothers cousin married 5 times. Married all her AP's.

My DH left his ex-wife for me. I was already separated. They had talked about divorce but hadn’t separated yet. We have been married for 22years. She still hates me. If I could do it over again, I would wait until both divorces were final. The marriages were over, but the drama and pain we caused by getting together before the divorces were final was not worth it. We could have waited six months. But we didn’t.

I feel like it’s written by a friend of the OW who told her over and over and over it was not love, he was a con man and then had to pick up the pieces when he callously moved on.

I have been with mine for 8 years. I have since divorced and he is in the process now. I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch but I'm hopeful things will work out.
