So much changes from season to season. I can see at least one team in D1 moving to EDP if they can in the spring if they can. This would make room for additional teams. I wouldn't worry about it now.

Yes, they have not lost any games by more than one goal, it seems like they are pretty appropriately placed.


Yeah, so if I were in your place, I’d encourage the players/parents to make it clear to the coach/club that you are ok with some Ls and really want to stay in the same division. NCSL is pretty good about working with clubs to accommodate them if it is a reasonable request. Just need to make sure someone within the club actively works it.

I would tell him despite what his friends may say it doesn't matter which NCSL division he plays in. What matters is what he can control - his own effort, his dedication to getting better, being a good teammate. Any of his friends who are flexing on him that their team is a higher division will learn soon enough that NCSL is not the best league anyway. All this tends to sort out in high school as kids recognize who are really good at something, who is not, and where they fit on the measuring stick.
