+1 this is what I popped on here to say. Why didn't he tell his ex sorry but I have plans. Like the poster above said I'm a little concerned that this will be a pattern if you guys do become exclusive that he will jump to whatever his ex says. What if he was already out of town for the evening at an overnight trip somewhere what would his ex have done? I'm not saying you shouldn't date this guy or that he was wrong to cancel but just keep your guard up OP.

Words are powerful and it struck me that he said he was looking forward to seeing the movie and not I'm looking forward to spending time with you. Why is he more disappointed about not seeing a movie than seeing his date?
