The horrible allergens around here are a big factor, particularly ragweed! I think I might need to move to the desert, but then there won’t be enough water, lol. Still trying to figure this all out.

100%. Not moving out west. The article in the Post today of the water shortages in parts of NoCAL are only a glimpse of what's coming, faster out west. We always wanted to move to the beach but we are no longer doing that. And I know a couple of people selling family beach homes before more effects of climate change are felt there and they can't offload it. Then: see Miami building collapse.

So far, the Mid-Atlantic is where we are staying for now as we seem to be in a good spot (obv not perfect). If we do anything we'd prob move a bit further north.

Yes. Even though I am from the south, I don't plan on moving south of Virginia. Even that may be too hot for me by the time I retire--I am getting more and more heat intolerant as I age, which is quite unexpected.

It's actually caused me not to want to become too attached to where I want to retire, because it's probably not a good idea to plan too far ahead.
