For the two cars I have at 80 mph speed
Tesla Y standard range, three hours, 240 miles
Tesla 3 midrange, four hours, 320 miles

For all the road trips I have taken so far charging (20 min) was shorter than lunch (30 min).

is it possible to get it in a week?

Existing inventory, yes. But you have to be quick - these cars get purchased within minutes of appearing on their website.

Weird. My neighbor bought a Model Y this summer, they gave him a multi day test drive, then he chewed on it for a week or two, and ultimately bought it. I’m not interested. It has to be charged for 20 minutes every 2 hours on a road trip. Hard pass.

What? We've never done that on a road trip. Where'd you hear that?

So what's the accurate answer. At 80 to 85 mph how many miles can I go without needing to stop and charge? That's highway speed outside of the DC area.

No thank you. I really wish they would improve the tech. I really want an electric car .

If you’ve not checked out the TMC forums, it’s worth your while.

Also, if you plan to finance, look at Digital Federal Credit Union. Great rates, better than Tesla offers. I’m at 1.49%. Also, if you’re already with PenFed, I’m told they go as low as .99% with the True Car code.

I got a Model Y. Ordered at the end of May and got the car at the end of June. It was a demo with a few hundred miles on it and I had to take delivery at Owings Mills instead of the place I initially chose, but Jack at City Center was quite helpful with the entire process.

No sales tax in DC. Immediately took a several thousand mile road trip, experience was great.

At the end of the quarter they try to purge the demos, that can be a shortcut to jump the line.
