As far as I can see the murder rate for trans women is below average, especially considering they are over represented among sex workers. HRC claims 44 trans and gender non confirming people killed in 2020. That’s out of 21,570 homicides total last year. So trans and gender non conforming people are about one-fifth of one percent of homicides in the US, or one out of every 500 homicides. Doesn’t seem out of line to me given their proportion of the population, if anything might be low. Plus, very few if any of those homicides appear to be because the individual was trans
