It was borderline abusive since it was so loud and the quarters were so close. My son nailed a goal with his left foot and I screamed “Great left foot!” which seemed to shut the other coach’s dumb @ss up temporarily.
My kid was only 10-years old at the time. The whole thing had all of us perplexed in the stands. He was one of the strongest players (though tiny) on his team so I assume it was some psychological tactic the other coach was trying. It didn’t phase my kid who lets crap like that fall off his back and actually eggs him on.
