Not only magnets and CES programs, now they have changed their focus on gutting Honors classes too. Blair is piloting an "All Honors" program for 9th graders. If everyone is Honors, then no one is Honors. This is just nuts.

Everyone gets the same salary. Whether they work or not! All are equal.

Similar to Advanced English in MCPS Middle Schools. It is ridiculous.

There is no secret special formula that mcps has....the only formula they will be using is increasing diversity in high school magnets. The only way to do that is by decreasing the group of people that are THE highest represented in magnets...Asians.
They do not always get it right because they don't have all the info. They thought they were offering a minority kid a spot recently (friend of my kid) but she is Argentinian, her parents went to UMD and have lived here at least 20 years. Wealthy. Not actual minorities...
Except the county wouldn't do this because it's completely illegal and would get them sued. Either you're attempting to mislead people or horribly misinformed.
+1 Admissions are race blind but FARMS is considered as a proxy.
