We also like a selection of appetizers, like mini quiches, cheese sticks and crackers and fruit and veggie trays with hummus. Cava has some nice appetizers on the catering menu.

OP here. Can you recommend a place that does sandwich platters? And thanks to the PPs for suggestions. We don’t do Chik-fil-a, so welcome any other ideas. I think our options are probably pizza or grocery store platters but hoping to find other options. Cava is a good idea too.

Yeah, I like cava mini falafel sandwiches and their spanikopita. Always a hit for work catered lunches. Wegmans sandwiches are pretty good and they have party platters. A friend also said Harris teeter party platters were good.

Really? I feel like my super picky eater always brightens up when they spot falafel on a menu, its a fail safe sort of kid food.

Taco bars are relatively healthy and all kids love tacos. I put out ground beef, salsa chicken, and black beans so there is something for anyone. I also think quesadillas are super easy and a kid favorite.

You could do tenders and fries platters from Ledo’s if you don’t want their pizza. Build your own taco bars are also good, especially if you make sure there’s some plain looking rice, black beans, and chicken.

I agree with others that sandwiches, dumplings, etc. is risky unless you know the kids. You’d need a ton of variety to please every preference. Even then I know a few kids that would probably eat nothing and whine.

What are you talking about? Dumplings are two bites. And at my kids parties we don’t stop the playing to sit and eat. The kids just go over and grab a dumpling or two when they want it. Not messy at all and everyone loves them. If they’re unappealing to YOU, then that’s something else. But who cares? The party is about kids, not adults.

Buy a huge box of taquitos and bake them. Put out cheese, salsa, guac and dip.

Popeyes for chicken strips and nuggets if you don’t like Chick fil a.

DS is not a sandwich eater so those options are a no go for us, as in we wouldn’t order them. He probably wouldn’t eat one at a party that he attended.

Sandwiches strike me as more risky because people tend to be more picky about what is on their sandwich. I could be projecting because I have never found those giant sandwich es or sandwich platters enjoyable.

We stick to pizza because the kids all eat it, we can get different varieties, and they deliver without paying extra delivery charges. We put out a fruit and veggie tray, that the kids do a surprisingly good job on.

I can’t believe no one has mentioned the #1 party pleaser - pigs in a blanket!

Mine would. We did food like that when we had big open house parties in the before times. When my kids were little and a bunch of their friends were coming, I did a kids food table with "kid-friendly" foods, but they ended up eating the adults stuff anyway like the mini quiches and spanikopita. Salty, cheesy, what's not to like? Pretty much like pizza, actually!

I’ve never seen pigs in a blanket at a kids party. Not since I was a kid!

Even though it’s lunchtime you could put out breakfast food and the kids would be happy. Muffins, bagels, fruit, bacon, little yogurt cups (my kids love the ones from Trader Joe’s).

We have gone to parties with platters from Subway, jersey mikes and Jimmy John’s. All kids don’t eat the sandwiches.

Chicken platters from Walmart deli are also a huge hit.

But this is why people do cheese pizza. It always appeals to the majority with the fewest issues.
