I get one every year on that road by the Springfield Costco. Just a week or two ago I saw that someone had dumped what must have been a whole box of nails in the left turn lane to get to Fairfax County Parkway North. It’s ridiculous.

This was our experience. Several punctures after we replaced our roof and then more when our neighbors replaced their roof. Stopped being an issue about a year after the roof was replaced. Super frustrating. I did learn that Costco repairs a flat tire for free regardless of whether you purchased the tire from them.

I've had one ever, and we drive a lot.

We live in Bethesda and there are always a couple teardown/new build projets going on in our neighborhood at any given time. I'd get them every few months, always construction material like nails.

When I got new tires, the tire place sold us a warranty for about $200 I think it was. We got our money back on that one! One tire got a sidewall puncture and they had to replace a $250 tire, all under warranty.

We live downtown so 90% of our driving is in the city, not highway. It happens so often I added a tire line to my budget. At one point I was convinced contractors were just throwing them out the window in handfuls. I’ve just chalked it up to another cost of living in this area.

Yeah that's an interesting point. I drive a Mazda3 and it's low to the ground in general, not sure how the style of tires I have compares to others!

Very frustrating! I pick up nails often. The last time was in August. I was on 95S and the dash light came on. Pulled off in Smithfield, NC and saw the nail. Luckily, Walmart was right there. Only took an hour to plug. It was a 2” nail.

My last vehicle attracted them - it was easily 4-6 per year. My favorite was when I’d get two in a week.

My current vehicle has never picked up a nail. It is 2 years old.

Kinda makes me wonder if there’s certain types of tires (tread patterns) that make you more susceptible.
