We don't serve milk (but we do serve grass-fed organic yogurt and they eat organic cheese) - this is one of our concerns. Ped is fine with it, our kids get plenty of fat, calcium, protein from other sources. They drink water with meals.

I assume these are not teens, as you posted in general parenting. Why are they having to eat all of that?
That is insane.

My 3 and 5yos have a glass of organic 2% cow milk every morning.

I offer fruit, yogurt, cereal, and a protein (eggs or peameal bacon usually).

I’m happy if she has a glass of milk. She’s apparently inherited my lack of enthusiasm for eating upon waking, and I don’t stress about it. She eats a decent lunch, has a snack after school, eats a good dinner, and usually has a healthy bedtime snack. Her desire to eat just isn’t on the “regular” clock, and I accept that.

It may just be too early for their stomachs to tolerate much breakfast. Can you give them the stoneybrook smoothie and pack a hearty snack for later? My kids love zucchini muffins or banana bread with a cheese stick as a mid morning snack. Of course it depends on what the school allows you to pack.

We do organic whole milk (cow). My oldest (daughter) is now a teen and we’ve been doing this since she was an infant.

Do you have a recipe for those waffles? I happen to have some sourdough starter and bunches and bunches of apples to use up

My kids are huge breakfast eaters but eat very little for lunch. We usually do:

Glass whole milk
Yogurt
Main item (oatmeal, waffles, bacon & eggs, etc)
Fruit (peaches, strawberries, blueberries, cantalope, etc.)

It sounds like you’re giving them good options. Two things is enough unless they ask for more.

My 12 yo has a glass of milk, fruit (berries or melon or a nectarine or grapes or a cut up orange or apple), and typically some dry cereal (Chex, Cheerios, Lucky Charms, whatever...don't care about sugar cereal). Sometimes a few pieces of bacon. Sometimes OJ.

Your breakfast sounds like way too much.

My kids eat a bowl of multigrain Cheerios or granola. That’s it. I don’t harass them to eat more. (Ages 4 and 6)

My kids eat Cheerios and Chex with whole milk and fruit. Two of them put yogurt on top, too. They each eat 2 bowls. I have 3 boys. They don't want anything else. On the weekends, they eat oatmeal or waffles and eggs.
