I love cinnamon rolls and have tried them pretty much everywhere I've seen them. I love Best Buns but theirs are hit or miss.. Amazing one day and dry the next. Ikea is good and I usually get one on the way out whenever we go shopping. Ted's are amazing but huuuge and only available certain days in the mornings only. Sometimes Northside Social has them and sometimes they are cinnamon but other times with berries. Those are the best, but I never know when they have them. But my favorite is to make the myself. I use the Cinnabon copycat recipe from Jo Cooks.

The absolute best cinnamon roll I had outside of my own kitchen was at this place in Clarendon that is now closed, Leonora Bakery.

I am so, so sad for you.

OP, the best cinnamon roles can be found, on the weekend, at Baked 'n Wired.

Everything seems dry and the bread part overly sweet but otherwise flavorless. I realize I’m looking for something texture and flavorwise like a raisin challah and then with yummy cream cheese icing. Any place around here with something like that.

Same here, I thought it was just me.

I think the Sally's Baking Addiction pecan bun is awfully good. Not everyone likes cinnamon rolls. They are a little bland/sweet by their nature. But pecan rolls have that added crunch and texture that takes them over the top IMO.

Just buy the cinnamon bread from Greenlee’s Bakery (via Whole Foods or online).
