I bought my 15 year old sophomore son a suit from Target.com. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the quality, it’s relatively inexpensive, and they have a lot more sizes online than in store. You can return it in store if it doesn’t fit. I also have a body tape measure at home to measure him.

I also love the categorical use of the word “athletes” for kids who play high school sports. I’m not knocking anyone who plays sports, by the way- my own kids do. But I suspect “athletes” are a special category to you, and you don’t also refer to those in the marching band as “musicians” and those in the school play as “actors.”

Op, my son is wearing a blazer and khakis, no tie.

Not the PP, but actually I do. People who play sports = athletes. People who play musical instruments = musicians. People who are in the school play = actors. I mean duh, what else would you call them?

My DD has gone with a group of friends and with her BF - meeting up with friends at the dance as well. It's not just a 'date' kind of thing.
