How did the insurance company prove that the person hit your car?
I don't know (and have wondered that myself). I don't know if they sent a police officer to look for damage on their car, or - what I think is more likely - their insurance company just didn't contest the case, maybe because the person admitted they did it when cornered. I was surprised myself that it worked out so well!
