I mix up balls of pb, oatmeal, flax seed, and chocolate chips and keep them in the fridge. Same with plain yogurt and fruit popsicles. Every weekend I take the fruit we haven’t eaten and blend it up for popsicles. Satisfies the sweet tooth without going full on junk food.

Since when is cereal junk? There are healthy cereal options. Cheerios with banana slices is a favorite around here.

Have you ever read the nutrition label on Cheerios?

Got a snack, for an teen playing sports, it’s pretty good.

It’s got a ton of sugar.

We’re talking about feeding teen athletes, not fat middle aged women with food hang ups.

My two athletes like to drink a protein shake about an hour before bedtime.

The younger one who has a sweet tooth may sneak a scoop of vanilla ice cream in her shake. I am ok with it as it doesn’t happen every night and both burn off so much calories with their training anyway.

Literally anything. I don't care. We have fruit, vegetables, candy, chips crackers, whole wheat bread, peanut butter, yogurt, cereal and protein bars..... Just about all your basics hanging around. He can eat whatever he wants after dinner.Heck even before dinner. If he wants to cook something that's up to him.

At this age, 15, I in no way monitor what he snacks on. I laid the foundation when it was younger. It's up to him to figure it out now.

I try to get mine to eat a meal at that time but he grabs for quick and easy even over heating up left overs. The after school foods before practice are a lot of eggs in various forms, hard boiled, scrambled, fried. Quick things to heat up are his favorites, especially any variety of burritos.

NP. Honey but maybe, but plain Cheerios, which my kids eat, has 1 gram of sugar and is highly fortified with iron, which is important in teen yrs.
