What a mess.
he's an excellent teacher and the families will love him
Agreed. Shame on LS for letting him get away.
My 2010 DS played for him and it couldnโt have been a worse experience for top players.

Yup. Right now, this spring, while FCV still has access to Revolution fields. Not a good sign for whatโs to come in the fall when they wonโt have Revolution fields.

double confirmed โAnonymous wrote:FCV still no field? AB was Lying all along. Credibility lost! Then the rest of the decisions...lol.

This just isnโt how it works at numerous clubs in the area. You find out where youโre practicing as the season begins. AB indeed made various statements early in his new role about a new field deal being close, but it clearly fell through and although he hasnโt actually acknowledged that, at every recent parent-coaches group interaction over the last 3 weeks he has focused on the Loudoun county allocation process. If the uncertainty that presents is too much for you, go to a different club. Chances are, the situation is similar, you just wonโt know it because a handful of ignorant parents arenโt hyping the issue as they are with FCV.
FWIW, our family is leaving FCV, but because of the new coaching slate, not this silly fields issue.
All the other ECNL/GA teams in the area know where their training and games will be held and have artificial turf fields. Predictability matters a lot for us in order to set up carpools and planning work schedules. Having a constantly switching field location and time slot sounds horrible.
You are wrong that โallโ the other ECNL/GA clubs have guaranteed turf fields at specific locations known months before the season even starts. But if thatโs what you want then youโd best accept that you are not going to get it from FCV for next season, so itโs time to choose a different club. Posting about it here is not going to make the impossible happen.
VDA fall locations....known.
NVA fall locations....known.
FVU fall locations....known.
Arlington fall locations....known.
SYC fall locations....known.
Revolution fall locations...known.
FCV fall locations...??????
Are you sure some of those arenโt โexpectedโ based on what their countyโs annual allocation process has yielded in the past but remain subject to the allocation process for next season? In any event, there is no current reason to believe FCV will โknowโ what their specific fields will be for next season until late summer, so if that doesnโt work for you then you should go to another club.
Fine AB, if that's what you want, we're out.
โSigh of reliefโ from FCV staff and parents.
โGaspโ from other clubsโ staff and parents (but only their second and third teams, since no one who could make an ECNL or GA squad is actually considering FCV).
