Combination of factors. Coach is in his second or third year and maybe he'll get 1-2 recruits thru admission per year, but who in their right mind would send their kid to either if you have other cheaper and better lacrosse options with relatively equal academics?? Also, if your DS was a solid player maybe not even a IL top 50 but wants to play at some level in college for a competitive program, while historically both SSSSA and EHS have gotten kids there as recently as last year, its a gamble that is just reckless. If you can afford $60 k per year, you're trying for Bullis, Prep, Gonzaaga or Landon over both SSSA and EHS. I just don't think either will ever be consider a competitive boys lacrosse programs again without a monster donor stepping in to make it happen. Sad.

They had 16 seniors last year. This year they have 4-5 good players but it looks like some of their starters can’t catch and throw. They were typically 4-6th place previous to last year so they are back to normal. Add in the coaching fiasco two years ago and they missed two recruiting years.
Bullis has more than 4-5 good players. The defense is very solid. Look at their commits. It's depth.
That person was talking about Dematha I believe, not Bullis.

B.McN got outscored 200-12 last year in WCAC and half their goals were against one team. MIAA and Hoco figured out a fair way to prioritize competitive balance. DMV could too. Let ADs/coaches pick division that's right for their school a year in advance (day after season ends). If there are borderline calls, let other ADs vote. There is no shame losing 23-0 every week, but there's no joy winning 23-0 either. When scores are repeatedly that lopsided it means something isn't right. Adults in charge should use their heads to make the game better for everyone.

Agree regulation is a silly discussion for high school sports completely.
On the private side, would love to see a MIAA, WCAC, IAC playoff. There's so much talent in the region and it would really add to the season. Would force the schools to lighten the early season load too. Wild idea, but it would be electric.

DM lost in seminfinal by 1 point in 2024. That was without a stable coach. In 2023, lost seminfinal. In 2022, lost in final. They have consistent been in playing in top 4 teams for years.

Result from a lack of understanding how to coach and how to use players. There are deep holes everywhere and no leadership on the field.

It won't work in high school because team rosters are very different from year to year. So a team that is relegated in year 1 might be a powerhouse in year 2 and decimate the lower division teams. What's the fun in that?
The ISL had a system somewhat like this, but with just two divisions. It seems to work fine.
