So many of these coaches take themselves way too seriously. I think the kids would play better, have fun, and develop more if they loved their coaches. It seems obvious?
As parents we put up with the negativity because the coaches intimidate us and the kids, it's crazy to me. Are there coaches at BSC that are loved by their players?
I've only ever heard good things about Philip Gyau, but he's a legend

The 2013s are starting MLS Next so we'll see pretty quickly if they can remain competitive. I don't have first hand knowledge, just rumors. The one common thread is that they both had the same coach this past year and his reputation is mixed, at best.
isn't 2013 getting some kids from McLean to fill the spots?

Have heard this too and would be curious to hear why this is happening and whether these teams will remain competitive?
When you have to label your first two teams Academy I so as not to offend the parents and kids on the “2nd team” by actually calling them Academy II, the kids who do not make the MLS Next team, the only true Academy I are invariably “insulted” at their true level and will seek another club that see their kid is worthy of the badge.
The two Academy teams at Bethesda are not equal but the parents ego’s are not strong enough to handle that. I have heard it straight from kids mouths and kids are a reflection of their parents.
Are you referencing the 2013 year with two Academy I squads or the 2016 issue?
