Russia will collapse, but I’m not persuaded a popular uprising will be the cause.

As I’ve posted before, GazProm, the Russian gas and oil company, has formed its own army.

How many US business companies do you know who have standing armies? (Other than maybe Blackwater).

The oligarchs are arming and preparing to fight. Once Russia is kicked out of Ukraine, who do you think all the armed groups will fight? (each other, obviously).

Ukraine is already throwing conscripts into the frontlines with mere days of training and old WW2 weapons. They predictably don't last very long.

The only grinding down happening here is of Ukrainians. Not everyone is happy with these sacrifices, and the regime's hold on power is becoming tenuous. Its been a long time since Zelensky set foot on Ukrainian soil for instance.
