I wouldn’t classify their older girls as better than average - it was established earlier in the thread that they are average for the area. They are a typical club with average players. When more talented players come through the ranks, they will leave for more competitive programs. This is how it is at most of the clubs in the area.

If you look more closely, you'll see that it says somewhat better than average. I think that was true two to three years ago, but not now. It has to do with VYS girls teams winning state cups, even though those don't count for much obviously. There was a VYS coach who very briefly accomplished a few things, then left. He had won a Div. 1 national championship at some point and brought advanced training methods to one team.

Oh god not this crap again. If your kid is playing for a crappy team in a low level league, then your kid does not "merit discussion of his individual talent". Your kid is most likely not very good at soccer. Most of the talented kids do play for better teams in better leagues. And most of the kids on those teams are more talented than most of the kids not on those teams. Period.

It is a way to justify your kid sitting on the bench a lot or rationalizing your team losing more games than it wins. That is why some clubs love talking about it. It keeps the seat fillers coming back for more.

I would say Vienna has some above average teams, some average teams and some below average teams. If you have an above average players and don't have D1 aspirations look at Vienna and see if the team in your kids age group doesn't suck. Occasionally you will have a Vienna player get a D1 offer but it's rare. They typically will have a few players continue on at the D2 or D3 level though so playing beyond high school is not impossible coming from Vienna. You will have to do more of the legwork to get your kid recruited though and it will probably only happen if the team they are on is one of the better ones at the club.

Actually, I am in sales, but that does not mean that my child is not an extreme elite player.

The ecnl regional is well run and has some really good teams at younger ages. Probably on par with ccl at older ages. Vys is probably where they want to be, but would do better in tournament placement and results if they could hold on to their homegrown talent. You could say the same about lots of clubs outside of ecnl and da

CCL is better! Just compare the NV clubs! However I totally agree that ECNL and DA are way better them both! VYS will never be accepted to play in those leagues so players will naturally leave the club at some point.
