No, I will not stop saying a fact. A disabled widow in their 80s living in a large million dollar home on a desolated property is a recipe for disaster. Do you have any comprehension of what this sort of large property and a paid off million dollar home looks like to someone who makes minimum wage? Now think about all the delivery drivers, handy men, landscapers, home health aides, and various nomadic criminals lurking around. Even just indirectly workers mentioning how a certain nice house they visited has this lonely crippled old lady living alone. That's all it takes.

You sound clueless. It's not a massive home on a desolate property. You can see all the neighbors in the drone footage. This is hardly an impressive property for the area. They see much better on a daily basis.

It’s literally a million plus dollar home. You clearly have no grasp of what a million dollar asset is to someone who makes minimum wage and the assumptions they make about her and/or her family’s net worth. And 3,000+ sq/ft on that large lot is gigantic, especially in the context of a disabled old widow. This elderly woman was a sitting duck in such a home.

Literally every house in that neighborhood is like that. What are you even suggesting that the Amazon driver kidnapped her to get her house? And no it's not gigantic. My 80yr old dad lives alone in a 3000 sq ft 3 bed house in Arizona.

SMF the Amazon driver did it! Link???

Yes he's squatting in the house now, living the good life in this $1M mansion on this desert estate.

I’m a nobody but I have a system that is much more precise than that - it at least would be able to tell me the exact time a person was on my driveway; what time they were at the door; and what time the door was opened, with supporting video that goes to an app.

+1 She did not have enough supports in place for someone of her age and health issues living alone on that property. .

Even if true, what does that have to do with her being kidnapped??? The elderly don't get support to deter kidnappers, as far as I know.

All this says is nobody should sleep alone. That's not really practical to prevent this type of completely bizarre and unusual crime.

Having a strong, healthy caregiver or companion who's mobile without a cane can do much to help when a break-in occurs or prevent one from happening. .

Caregivers are paid next to nothing. You cannot expect them to body guards.

They can call 911. They can run faster. They can make sure alarm is on. Two people better than one.

You can’t force someone to live with someone if they don’t want to. Nancy is not incompetent.

Yes, you can. The real issue is too few Americans want an elderly parent to move in with their family. It’s easier for them to be out of sight out of mind…until predictably, tragedy happens.

Why would the best place necessarily be with an adult child? People who can't live alone need single floor living and more supervision than a working adult child can provide. I think you're a troll, though.

I don’t understand the necessity of these public videos. Can’t she just pay the ransom to the believed captor in private?

+1. It's only 6 million dollars. Surely that won't affect them that much. Cough it up, Savannah.

Yes, a massive 3,000 square foot home. People get to live where they want to. Family helps, caregivers help. This is an exceedingly rare thing to happen hence the news about. Millions of elderly people live just fine on their own.

No, millions of single women in their mid 80s with heart issues and limited mobility are not living alone in a 3000 square foot home set back from the road on a fairly large property with no active security system or caregiver.

They're living with their cats.

They are counting the guest house

The guest house isn't more than 100-200 sq ft. But there are loads of neighbors around not sure what this PP keeps going on about.

And maybe they did. But you can't force competent people to make decisions, even good ones. Head on over to Eldercare Forum. People vent about this stuff every week there.

I'm fully aware and thankful that my mom was willing to have a working alarm system and assistance from a caregiver. She also had 2 Border Collies.

Wouldn’t the kidnapper easily begin to target her cohosts and their families as easily as they did Savannah’s mother?

No order for additional security at the NBC offices or family homes?

Good question.

They were treating it as a missing person or maybe a silver alert type situation.

They were not thinking, abduction or murder.

It has been almost 8 days that she has been without her important meds and her pacemaker.
It would be impossible for her to go without these two things for eight days truthfully.

And I am pretty sure Savannah & her two siblings knew this when they posted their last video just a few days ago.
Savannah’s wording was vital in that she stated that she wants her Mother returned so that they could “celebrate.”

Key word is celebrate.
People usually use this term when discussing a promotion or a birthday - never when someone abducted is returned home.

The term celebrate is often used in context of looking back at one’s life after they are no longer alive.

The pacemaker is still functioning. It's just no longer connected to her smart watch. It will continue to function even if she dies.
