Maryland United offers out tonight…. Any takers? Looks like they’re trying to create two teams .
A friend went to the tryouts and told me there were at least 80 girls there!!! I only dropped off… shocked at this number.

If you’re referring to UMD, Capital players are being recruited to better lax and academic schools.
Way better. Like Drew, Youngstown, Susquehanna, Manhattan, Rhodes, Liberty, ECU, Xavier, Longwood...

Of course, that goes to the definition of contender. Only a small minority would be contenders.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I'm not sure where you get your information, but Ivy athletes would have a small minority that would be contenders for getting in without playing their sport. That includes women's lacrosse.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Cap players have the recruiting success because they have the grades/academics and/or their parents can pay ivy tuitions. But people seem to conflate that with elite lacrosse talent. At Princeton et al, a huge % of superb lax players are eliminated due to academics and finances. No one seems to mention that elephant in the room.
Correct. To get into an Ivy for lax you need have the grades, etc that would make them a contender as a regular applicant. Lax can give them an edge. Girls are not going to Ivy or NESCAC for lax who would not otherwise belong there.
I think he/she means not that they would absolutely get in, but that they would have the credentials to do so.
