They sent out an email this afternoon with information about how to register virtually or in person for the September meetings, but they don't say anything that aligns with Mateo Dunne's email about how two schools are paired at every meeting, much less identify the "paired" schools.

It's insane how bad these people are at their jobs. Does Dunne have to run interference for them all the time? Most of the other School Board members appear to be asleep and Reid is a disaster.

Why is this so hard for them?

He doesn’t know. He speculated on the school pairings for his district. West Potomac/Mount Vernon. Hayfield/South County. But yeah, there shouldn’t be nearly this much guessing.

I'm sure he doesn't. It's not his fault. He's getting this info from staff and they haven't provided that information.

And the meetings are starting next week.

Since they are too incompetent to provide decent notice about meetings, I'm not optimistic these clowns can actually pull off boundary changes. The incompetence is through the roof.

Hiding the ball is so deeply ingrained in their DNA at this point that they can't really find it within themselves to be clear or transparent about anything.

From Mateo Dunne's latest email:

"I was surprised that FCPS planned to hold meetings in September because the revised maps (or scenarios) will not be published until early October. Many constituents shared my concern and expressed their strong preference for FCPS to hold community meetings after the revised maps are published. I engaged with the Superintendent to understand the intent, and she clarified the purpose of the meetings, which I have described below.

The September community meetings will be held before the revised maps are published. These meetings will focus on boundary-related issues, such as school start times and transportation. There are 12 meetings. Each meeting will be a "paired" meeting meaning that it will include two high school pyramids.

The October community meetings will be held after the revised maps are published. These meetings will focus on the revised maps and solicit community input on the maps. There are 12 meetings. Each meeting will be a "paired" meeting meaning that it will include two adjoining high school pyramids. For example, I expect FCPS to hold a single meeting for West Potomac HS and Mount Vernon HS together. I also expect FCPS to hold a single meeting for Hayfield SS and South County HS."

Why hasn't Reid communicated this and why can't they go ahead and indicate the pairings. These people are so damn incompetent at their jobs.

Updated school boundary maps for BRAC meeting on Sept 24th

Phase 2 community meeting at Marshall HS on Sat Sept 27th

But, the maps not going to be released online until Oct

And you just know the maps presented to BRAC will be massively zoomed in screen caps of areas with minor irrelevant changes.

These people are such idiots.

They are required under their policy to hold meetings in each affected pyramid, but they haven't committed to doing that, nor have they given any indication as to whether it's more meaningful to provide feedback before the next maps are scheduled to be released "by mid-October" or afterwards.

Reid has absolutely no business in charge of FCPS. She should be fired before this shit-show resumes.

There is no way that they can do a good job with this at this point. Even competent people couldn’t make it happen. Way too much stuff that they’re trying to do.

Correct and… students transitioning to middle and high have to start touring schools and enrolling as early as January. 6th and 8th graders + their counselors are going to have a tight turn around.
