IMO…
From what I’ve learned through my first experience, if going to another club, you got to scout the new team going forward into the next season and the potential coach before tryouts. Although, not all the kids may not be returning, its best to understand the level performance and play: even best guess of who will be staying before shelling out another cent for travel.

-I know now if its not at least a 2nd/3rd-ish level team in the top divisions (likely to have better coaches), its not worth the expense. I’d rather train my own kid and continue that progression on my own as we have.

I get it, limited number of seats and Valor, like all clubs, don't make much roster changes unless your kids a Messi or Rinaldo.

-Also, other nuances, like getting past some of the nepotism (hate to say), you will have to wait for the other lower level team players to spill over into the next upper level team to get a seat. Sad how it doesn’t really go by performance most of the time.

Many not returning from the third team or all teams?

Across all teams. We will see what happens but I'd bet nearly half the Gold team not returning. Some are not going to play soccer anymore, at least 1 moving out of the area, some just so fed up with the worthless coach and what Valor has allowed they are done with the organization.

Both of ya'll sound pretty low rent. May want to cut the specifics out when trashing a club because regardless of how much you like or dislike a club. Calling out a kid's ability to play is bad taste. NVA recruiting size over skill it status quo, kids leaving because of lack of playing time or ability to move to 1st team....Not a valor thing. It happens everywhere. The left wing and striker comments seem very personal so get over it. If you're claiming they play long ball direct to the striker, how is it that you are still complaining about the mid field being slow? Doesn't sound like they use the midfield if the whole game is to go long.

LOL, let me see the best kids from Valor was a big kid with no skill. A kid that was on the second team and another that couldn't get minutes. Doesn't sound like they where the best unless you have some bizarre definition of best. We got it, your bitter because your kid was done wrong but at least make some sense.

That's a complete lie don't listen to anyone saying div 3 is the same as div 5. They are just trolling you. There is a very obvious difference between each division and sometimes at younger ages the div 3 teams are better than the div 2 since the top is filled with parents that shelled out for academy programs instead of rec but the kids learned next to nothing. It's literally pay to play top two teams until u11.

Thats been some of my observation in speaking with other parents.

-I've seen maybe the top 10-15% of players out of the 4th/5th team rosters of players that are better than 3rd/4th team players.
-Same can be said about the top 10-15% players of 3rd and 4th teams that are better than the 1st best team.

Not all the kids receive an opportunity to move up based on skill. "It's more like wait your turn".

My kid started way at the bottom and now made it to Pre-ENCL/Academy at another club/number 2 division and that team performed very well within that age group/division.

I want to say, its seems somewhat imbalanced and inequitable.

Valor has a team playing in the state Cup final tomorrow. It’s only one age group, but they do have the best team in the state.

Not to bash the 2011s, because they are a good team, but they are not the "best team in the state". They are playing in the mid-tier "state cup" against other club's third teams. They opted not to participate in the state cup for their league (ECNL-RL), which is understandable in the sense of why pay to play against the same teams you are already playing against during the season, but they once again chose to "play down" for the state cup. All these VA state cups are so misleading. They really are just a tournament comprising VA teams. It isn't a battle against all the top teams in the state.
