"This is the least weird thing he does. I know a lot of guys who swim with rash guards on because who wants to bother with all the sunscreen. My athletic teen son will often use one for half the day. And really particularly if you are a politician and don’t want everyone scrutinizing your locvechandles. I’m not a Vance fan but I defend him on the rash guard."
Rash guards are for surfers so they don't get scraped by sand on their boards. You can't be this dumb. They are not a thing at a freshwater pool. He looks like a middle school chubby boy who is embarrassed by his gynecomastia.

I realize the following is more than a week old, but the guy doesn’t know how to order donuts. Wasn’t being regular and inveighing against the (croissant-eating) elites the whole premise of that damn book?
Yeah, and I think we see the flawed premise in his book. He seemed to think that he had difficulty integrating into “elite” society because of his alleged “hillbilly🦴roots. When it’s now clear that it was because he’s just a socially awkward guy who is pretty arrogant and doesn’t listen well to others. He’s like the opposite of the Talented Mr Ripley.
Ooh I like that comparison. And inverse Ripley.

It just seems like the online criticisms of him (incel, sycophant, loser, etc.) and those questioning his sexuality have started to die down.

Uh...no.
JD Vance is the worst VP pick. Ever.
Trump disqualifies himself, but any rational voter wouldn't consider Vance as presidential material. At. All.
Wait. I thought Quale was. No, that was Palin. No that was Pence
Interesting that you misspelled Quayle of all folks, but you do you.
Neither Palin nor Vance or qualified to be president, let alone veep. Pence was a horrid choice, especially for public health reasons regarding drugs and sex, though I suspect he would have been better than Trump on the pandemic. Interesting - aside from the Hoosier thing - that Pence called Quayle of all folks about what to do regarding the vote cert.
Quayle has always been out of his league, even in his marriage.

Excellent analogy!
And probably correct about the fundamental issue Vance has had with “elite” society. He’s just a weird loser. Why did Trump pick him??
