This is the problem with our justice system and it needs to be fixed!
We should have focused on finding her -- possibly when she was still alive -- if he could have gone to police from the beginning and known that there were no repercussions for being honest on August 25.

And if America wasn't so fired up about this crime - he might have gotten away with it. They would have never found her body in the wilderness of a state they weren't even searching if not for the public condemnation and hikers realizing they had footage of the potential perp.

Over the weekend when I was thinking about this case, I wondered if she was pregnant. Approximately 20% of women who die during pregnancy are victims of murder, making it the top cause of death for pregnant women (or women who recently gave birth). When compared to a similar demographic of women who were not pregnant and who did not recently give birth, "only" 6% were murder victims.

Bad example. Casey was totally guilty of drowning her daughter. She even admitted it allegedly a year after the trial knowing that double jeopardy prevented her from being tried for the same crime twice.
And he wasn't determined to be guilty for 'following legal advice', he was guilty for hiding a body, abandoning a crime scene, driving 12 states away to flee the area, and then not informing local law enforcement that a person may be missing or dead.

Yeah, it was the fact that he looked guilty that made him stonewall the police and go on the lam, not the dead fiancee he left behind when he drove away with her car. Let's change the entire concept of evidence because you cannot let go of your misplaced sympathy for a murderer!

Because cooperating with the police should NOT be used against you in a court of law.
