Landon and Prep are rated among the top 20 programs in the country in the preseason, so there is no shame being below them. But STA had a miserable year last year, including losing to Herndon HS. Herndon HS. It may be cylical, but STA was the worst team in the IAC last year and will likely be the worst team again this year.
Does St. Albans school recruit high school lacrosse players?
no they don't officially recruit any sports players, they are not able to

I have been told that I should expect an uphill battle as not only are we not connected, but that there are an unusually high number of "guaranteed admits" from legacy, sibling, and "connected" families likely to come out of Beauvoir this year. Anyone have any insights on this? My son is very bright and an excellent athlete and musician, so I think he'd be a great fit, if given the opportunity.
where did you hear that there are an unusually high # of "guaranteed admits?"
Also, are you coming from public or private-- that may make a difference.
Not OP. I am a Beauvoir parent. I cannot speak to legacies or "connected families." But just going through the class lists, there do seem to be a high number of siblings who presumably will apply.

Anonymous wrote:So, exactly how does one get into St. Alban's?
Anonymous wrote:No, honestly I don't care about TJ or Blair. My point is that people are really making too much of the NMSF designation. Doing well on the PSAT doesn't get anyone into college unless the person does well on the SAT. People should look at SAT scores, not PSAT scores. NMSF is nice for bragging rights, but even the top, top students who get the "finalist" designation -- get some very lame scholarship amounts for it.
You're absolutely right if getting into College is your end game. One can get in a Dision 1 lacrosse jock or jill.
