I don't know. They've lost 3 games by a total of 5 goals to their peers. While the game against Yorktown this week will be interesting it really doesn't matter much as the one in the district semifinal.
What was the final score yesterday? They were down a lot at the half and lost one of their top players?
Game was much closer than the score suggests, McLean went down a key player early on and still was fighting for the win until Battlefield sunk a couple right in the last couple minutes to extend their lead.
11-8

2. Battlefield- Hadn’t seen much from them but now I have. They DOMINATED Mclean much more than the score showed.
3. Freedom SR- Cannot wait for them and Battlefield to get after it.
4. Langley- They continue to stack wins after their overblown slow start.
5. Madison- They really need to get healthy, do believe they’re top 2/3 when they have their guys.
6. Yorktown- What a win for the boys in sky blue. They are the last of 6 true contenders IMO.
7. Mclean- Little bit of a wake up call the past couple weeks. L to Langley, narrow win over Herndon, and then were not that competitive vs Battlefield. Still the best of the rest, but not the powerhouse I thought they might be.
8. Cosby- They are clearly good enough to stay with Langley, and that’s good enough to let them have the 8 spot.
9. Hayfield- Undefeated, couple decent wins, that’s all it takes to get 9 these days.
10. Oakton- Hello again old friends. Finally figured out how to win again, even if it’s not pretty. In all honesty, this should probably be West Pos spot but I haven’t seen them play.

Broadneck appeared to have their strength at midfield and preferred dodging/shooting from the top. The Yorktown goalie made some great saves, which seemed to irritate them and launch even more low percentage shots.

Typically by mid to late season, all teams get better, and there are more opportunities to scout our opponents (in games, on film, etc.), so games should be closer. Yorktown coaches and players obviously did their homework.
