Judge Liman: We have an emergency. We need to figure out how to make Blake happy and comfortable because she said she only wants to get deposed one time.
Wayfarer: Your Honor, attorneys and clients are all mid flight on the way to NY-
Judge Liman: I don’t care that anyone is mid flight, figure it out or Blake will be coming over my house instead of showing up at your deposition tomorrow.
Wayfarer: Just because she’s famous doesn’t mean she should get special treatment. Blake is the one suing everybody, we should be able to depose her more than once. It’s not even an inconvenience for her, she lives in NY.
Judge Liman: Justin is famous too so STFU. This is my court and I want to make sure Blake feels comfortable. Michael Gottlieb, why don’t you file a dummy complaint tomorrow and I’ll give you another chance to file an amended complaint so that Blake can get what she needs tomorrow?
Michael Gottlieb: Great idea judge, thanks for the lookout homie!
Judge Liman: Great, send Blake and Deadpool my regards!

What is the reference “depends how stupid the dummy is” about? Who said or what is it referring to in connection with today’s emergency heating? I am seeing people saying it with laughing emojis. What is context? Thx
Wallace was dismissed today for lack of personal jurisdiction so he is no longer a party, but it's without prejudice so Blake may refile and make him a party again. That's an issue because they had planned for his lawyers to depose Blake tomorrow but now he's no longer a party. That would mean for him to depose her, she either had to reschedule her deposition (which is what ended up happening), be deposed again later (heaven forbid) or Wallace would need to be quickly added back as a party. Liman "helpfully" suggested Gottlieb should file a dummy complaint, basically re-file his old complaint (that was dismissed) tonight with the idea he can amend it into the "real" complaint later, basically just for show as a technicality to make Wallace a defendant in this case as of tomorrow morning.
Wallace's attorney Babcock was asked if he is ok with the "dummy" complaint and said "it depends how stupid the dummy is" as a lighthearted and witty comment, to register his disagreement.
Liman also offered to reverse the dismissal, which was bizarre.
Wait wtf really? I don’t speak legalese so I missed that.

Anonymous wrote:Where did the Liman and Gottlieb connection come from — is it that they both clerked for the same Supreme Court justice? That’s a pretty exclusive club.

She is never going to be deposed.
