They are making a list of probationary employees to fire as an initial way to reduce the size of government. They may cut hundreds of our attorney staff all at once as part of the MAGA agenda. This will adversely affect our goal of providing timely decisions to veterans.

Reading/interpreting this poorly drafted memo, the essence is that remote workers will report to some agency facility within 50 miles from home (alternatively, my SF-50 says that VA can pay to relocate me).

Where will everyone sit and do their work? The Board gave up about 70 percent of the office space. The fourth floor was vacated in December.

Given the limited space at the Board, management will need to be creative to effectively implement RTO. I recommend calling Dell and asking for assistance. They have a lot of experience designing call centers and can help the Board maximize space utilization. Cubicle bunks and office sharing are possible alternatives.
