What if these measures actually have worked and prevented Carroll from harming any children at NCRC? No, it didn’t stop him being hired as he had no criminal history to be flagged and seemed to have the required skills for the job. But if there is currently no evidence he carried out any abuse in person, it seems these measures may have helped in preventing him from physically abusing kids at NCRC. I hope that continues to be the case as they move through the prosecution and investigations.
Teachers should NEVER be alone with a student. EVER. Both to protect the student from molestation and to protect the teacher from false accusations.
When I was a teacher, this was the standard for exactly these reasons.

The person you’re responding too is actually going to be giving her child a lifetime of anxiety because they are eliminating an entire gender based on a a bad particular person as lots of guys are amazing preschool teachers and are just as disgusted by Caroll.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I would never send my barely verbal child into the care of a male preschool teacher.
Especially if I’m paying $40K for the experience.
The safety of MY child is more important than anyone’s feelings. Others are able to value the feelings of the adult male over the safety of their child if they choose.

Male teachers are not the only people who can do something wrong. Don’t assume that only men are the bad ones. My male cousin was sexually abused by a female teacher in preschool.

What are you talking about? How would this possibly have prevented Carroll? Or Toth?
NP. Of course, it would help for the future.
