We are all fcked thanks to the POS Republicans.
Just pay more voluntarily. Nobody is stopping you, and you'll do what you think it right while others do what they think is right, e.g., paying less tax and deciding for themselves how to spend their money instead of the government deciding for them.
Is that the official Republican POV now given they are officially the party of deficits and debt?
Trump was responsible for 25% of the national debt alone at the end of his first Presidency. The Republicans, as consistently pointed out here, currently control the House, Senate, and Presidency. And they just voted to add trillions more. They are the party of debt and deficits.

That’s because they knew it was going to pass anyway. Why go record when it’s already in the bag.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:
Quit both-sidesing everything. Not one democrat voted for this crap bill.
I’m at a multi-millionaire Democrat majority enclave all weekend. They are all ecstatic. The rich on
both sides of the aisle do not care about the poor and middle peasant class. That is to say they literally do not care if the poor all drop dead. Congress is a charade. Trump is just a boogeyman front for what all of the moneyed class wanted.
Not one dem voted for this bill. Stop pretending both sides are the same.

Stupid take. Democrats fought this POS bill. Even if it benefits them individually, it’s horrible for our county.
I don’t know any rich dems, including myself, who are celebrating this bill. Not one. We are all sad. I didn’t need another tax cut.
As we've all said, you are more than welcome to give as much of your money as you'd like to taxes. A helpful PP even posted the address to which you mail a check. Go ahead. No one is stopping you.
Meanwhile, I'm waving my flag today. Happy 4th, everyone!
Not PP, but AOC is the progressive that comes to mind. Get your checkbook out now.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:We are rich and benefit from this horrible bill. We are crying for our country today, hanging the flag upside down.

I’ll voluntarily pay more to progressive politicians who don’t kiss unpatriotic traitor’s bum holes. Thank you for your concern re this matter.

This bill, which most of the people voting for it had not read, is going to wreak havoc on the lives of the poorest Americans.
Remember the breadlines in the Depression? No? Not born yet? I wasn't either. Google it, kids.
That is coming. Starvation right here in the richest country in the world.
People dying in hospital parking lots, once again.
But hey, say the Tech Bros, those poor people are expendable. AI is coming to take over most jobs. We don't need those leeches, say the Tech Bro Billionaires.
Despicable does not begin to describe the GOP who lied about this bill and then are going to stick it to their constituents -- after the midterms, of course!!
Heartless. Cruel. Unconscionable. But, hey, the TechBros have no conscience! They have no empathy, as Elon Musk has said over and over again.
Empathy is for suckers, say these despicable people.
Deplorable. That's the right term for them. Utterly deplorable.
We have the fattest poor people in the history of earth. What more are we supposed to do?
It has nothing to do with the trust fund, it’s an income tax deduction that phases out at 75k.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Social security is funded separately, BBB has no effect on SSI taxes that fund SSI. The BBB doesn't really save that much in taxes for most of us; it does for the rich. But, what it does do is balloon the deficit and make social security insolvent even faster.
The Tax Policy Center, which provides nonpartisan analysis of tax and budget policy, projected the bill would result next year in a $150 tax break for the lowest quintile of Americans, a $1,750 tax cut for the middle quintile and a $10,950 tax cut for the top quintile. That's compared with what they would face if the 2017 tax cuts expired.

It this really worth ballooning our deficit and gutting social security for the future?

The tax cuts of the rich mean that our government will go bankrupt much sooner than expected. So don't count on your Medicare or Social Security.
Yes it does. The trust fund will now run out a year earlier because of the new deduction for wealthy seniors.
That deduction is means tested. Wealthy seniors will not benefit from it.
