Every D and R politician from blue states has been complaining about reduced SALT for years. I have seen them on CNBC multiple times. So what you saying is completely false.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:They also won’t be complaining about the increased SALT deduction either. And what's more, Democrats won't go back to their constituents and brag about the new law despite having voted against it the way Republicans did during the Obama and Biden administration's. Meanwhile, Republicans are afraid of their constituents and won't be holding any town halls. Sad!
The SALT relief is temporary and lipstick on a pig, dwarfed by the permanent tax giveaway to billionaires. Dems and blue states did not ask for this. We asked for healthcare, we asked for humanity and decent treatment of the elderly, the disabled, the sick, the poor, the hungry, they all get screwed. We asked for clean and sustainable energy supply but instead we get filthy, expensive polluting coal and oil. We asked for education, access to college for those who need it, good, strong public k12, for educational programming on PBS and supporting arts and humanities along with strong STEM education. We asked for infrastructure, instead we get crumbling roads, bridges sewer and water treatment plants and cuts to mass transit. We asked for good stewardship of the land and instead we get pollution and a sell off of our national parks and scenic wonders to billionaires. We asked for the working class to be protected, for consumers and investors to be protected, but instead we get worker safety and unions being gutted, we get regulatory rollbacks that will flood the markets with scammy and unsafe products, dangerous chemicals, risky investments and everything else. Do not DARE to suggest any bothsides on this, or “Dem hypocrisy” or that we owe Republicans a damn thin.

The BBB doesn't really save that much in taxes for most of us; it does for the rich. But, what it does do is balloon the deficit and make social security insolvent even faster.
The Tax Policy Center, which provides nonpartisan analysis of tax and budget policy, projected the bill would result next year in a $150 tax break for the lowest quintile of Americans, a $1,750 tax cut for the middle quintile and a $10,950 tax cut for the top quintile. That's compared with what they would face if the 2017 tax cuts expired.

It this really worth ballooning our deficit and gutting social security for the future?

The tax cuts of the rich mean that our government will go bankrupt much sooner than expected. So don't count on your Medicare or Social Security.
Yes it does. The trust fund will now run out a year earlier because of the new deduction for wealthy seniors.

Stupid take. Democrats fought this POS bill. Even if it benefits them individually, it’s horrible for our county.
I don’t know any rich dems, including myself, who are celebrating this bill. Not one. We are all sad. I didn’t need another tax cut.
And I didn't need millions of people being entitled to health care without footing the bill. Your agenda of giveaways based on class warfare has become pure frigging nonsense.

They won’t brag about it because it wasn’t worth the pain many people will feel. It also doesn’t effect that many blue states.
