2-5? More like 5-2 if not better.

By week 5, SJC will not be ranked. Too many gaps at key positions.

SJC homers still living in 2022.

They'll also have to either increase the football scholarships or dial back on the sports emphasis. 5-6 isn't the goal. As for lax, there might be some changes in lax admissions if Speaks leaves or if they can't schedule more local games to ease up on that schedule. .500 and a middling academic experience doesn't excite parents regardless of the opponent.

SJC is at a cross-roads. I don't think anyone will deny SJC major emphasis in athletics (primarily football, some basketball) has put the school on the map nationwide. While the academic perception has also increased naturally due to the new facilities and upgrades over the past 5 years and increase in demand, SJC persona still lags behind Catholic rivals Gonzaga and far behind of Georgetown Prep. Bottom line, athletic success doesn't equate to academic success.

While Haley is a very accomplished businessman, his track reccord at UA speaks for itself, I find it odd he has never worked in secondary education prior to when he arrives at SJC this coming Fall.

It makes you wonder if the school will be run more like a "for profit business" and less what it should be, an education institution aimed at aspiring the leaders of tomorrow.

Leaders of tomorrow. 😂

Bullis at #25 is suspect. Current 2024 senior is subpar. Current 2025 class is loaded. I could see them knocking off either Landon or Prep in the IAC playoffs if they get "hot".

Surprised Gonzaga is not mentioned, they are the most balanced team in the DMV region.

Agreed. Bullis is too high. I would argue that both Prep and SJC should be higher, but like the pp said, preseason rankings are essentially useless.

The season’s first ranking is always wrong. I wouldn’t get too excited….

You can always find an almighty Gonzaga parents. “Academic experience”. Comparable (you make it, what you make it).

They won’t go .500 in the WCAC. They will take home the trophy most seasons. Cue this spring. Also - competitive lacrosse players want to play top teams not patsy’s.

What does that mean (for someone who obviously doesn’t know)?

The first 2 infamously chose to promote sports over the overall health of the school and are now shuttered. One made the coach the head of school and the other couldn’t pay the bills due to the support of the team. St Frances did the same in Baltimore and is now sucking wind again after trying to be like IMG.

SJC hires a semi retired pal of plank whose only experience is having 2 hs boys who were good at lax.

Clown must not like the Haley family for some reason. St. John’s isn’t sucking wind. Have received more admissions applications than room allows for many years and that isn’t changing. Maybe your kid didn’t get in? Or maybe he wasn’t good enough?
