Why would they do that?

Jump in number of cases tracked by justsecurity.org, looks like they are all habeas corpus cases filed as a consequence of the SCOTUS ruling.

What an absolutely bizarre system we had. Have an economy dependent on illegal immigration. Don't punish the business owners hiring illegal immigrants. Encourage illegal immigrants to pay taxes and be good eggs to increase their chances to shift to legal status. Have one part of government trying to remove them while another part couldn't care less about their status as long as the tax revenue rolled in.

Yup.

Is this because of the Sacket's Harbor protest?

His crime? Reuveni told a judge the Trump administration hadn’t given him a satisfactory answer why a man was deported to an El Salvador prison in error.

Nazi Barbie (a.k.a. Trump’s personal lawyer Bondi) said:

At this rate, the justice department will only have crazy MAGA lawyers left and since there probably tons of them, the department will be grossly understaffed.

Great. The lawyer is hit with an impossible choice: lie to the judge or lose his job.

It is not an impossible choice. Obviously, he choses to uphold his duty to the court and save his law license. Being wrongfully terminated for that sucks, but it gives him a cause of action against the employer for wrongful termination (should he choose to pursue it) and also allows him to live another day to practice law elsewhere. Obviously, Bondi is wrong here. No one should give up their law license to abide a unethical client. Ask all of Trump's former lawyers who have gone to jail and lost their right to ever practice law again.

A lawyer's duty of candor to the court trumps Bondi's incorrect interpretation of zealous representation. Zealous representation does not permit lying to the court or acting in contempt of court.

Correction, according to The Hill, just under a million people are required to leave after coming in on CPB One.

More than a million people have gotten parole via CPB One app. This app has been renamed CPB Home, and these million plus have been told via their app that the parole has been revoked, and they must leave within a week or be arrested.
