Im no math wizard but if both teams are playing GA1, doesnt that mean you would both be top team? Your either 1st or your last which one is it?

Annoucning them with less than 48 hours notice feels like a panicked overcorrection (and gives the ability to shop out offers before girls go elsewhere)
These are only for the older teams and at that age, not very many openings. Again, this is only for players not affiliated with ECNL. Current Revolution and FCV players will likely show up. The club has been having IDs for those players for all age groups already though just like VDA has.
What is the appeal for current Revolution and FCV players? Why would they want to join NVA now?
College placement (because that's where the coaches and club relationships matter way more than the league). There are going to be parents that feel like their players just have to be in ECNL, so they'll leave. That'll open roster spots on the GA team. So many of you all are reacting negatively to this news on the girls side and I can't quite figure out why. If you're not on a top team (national platform) by U14 in this area, you were pretty much shut out. The fate of your DD's soccer career left in the hands of a coach with a preference or the reality that a team that wanted her on that level isn't accessible. We got the addition of SYC and VAR last year to GA. This year it's McLean and rumors of Alexandria. NVA simply switched leagues so that's not an addition. But, there are now MORE places for these girls to find a home and compete at higher levels. Is it going to look great the first year or two, no, but it will get better because they'll have the attention that they're not getting on their RL, EDP, and NCSL teams right now. You all are too shortsighted and selfish for that matter.
But Revolution and FCV are already GA. What is the benefit for them to switch to another GA team?

Why get yourselves all worked up every year. I would assume the same age group coaches that NVA has right now. If they're in their 2yr cycle, why would it change? Also, what are your options?

That is exactly how it will unfold.
It wouldn't make sense for GA to allow NVA and LS to each have a GA1 team. The RL team will go to GA2.
LS is telling you what you want hear to prevent the girls from leaving.

It also says it's for NVA partnered clubs, i.e. valor and LS players that are non-ECNL. looks like they have gaps to fill.
