on’t ever go on a reality TV show.
They will dredge up some wacko from your past who want their few minutes of attention.
exactly. We all have people from our past school, jobs, social, or family interactions that would tell stories about us that do not jibe with what we remember the situations to be. I can think of quite a few situations where my own sister would describe my actions one way and I'd be like "no way! That's not what I said/did."
So what if his later-in-life jobs were not fancy. He was doing something productive. He wasn't in debt. He wasn't cheating the gov (like our former pres.). Gerry doesn't write the "chirons" for the show. That is done long after he has gone back home. He has no say in that. And, frankly, I can't remember seeing any articles or interviews where anyone asked him about his past work. Nobody cares b/c he's a 72 yr old man who is RETIRED and on a fixed income. He wasn't picked b/c he's wealthy -- btw, the regular Bachelor leads aren't exactly wealthy anymore either. This isn't a show about how women can catch a wealthy older man. The theme of the show is finding love in older age. Gerry is older (check). He's single (check). He's heterosexual. (check). He is in good health (check). And he looks pretty good (has teeth, has hair on his head, is tall). Check, check, check.
That's ALL he's supposed to be in order to be the "lead." The women aren't supposed to be looking for a sugar daddy. They are looking for LOVE and companionship. He is willing on both accounts.
