I even saw a headline about how Mandy Moore threw up when she saw what was going to happen in the final scripts. Gee, sound great. Sign me up.
Oh, please let this be the juicy train wreck you are teasing us with! Because I'm mostly hate watching, at this point.
What a boring and empty life you must have to watch an hour long show that you don't even like. I don't even have time to watch shows I do like.

So don't watch it.
It's a TV drama. All TV dramas have more "stuff" going on than we have in our real life. If they didn't, they'd be boring as f***. Give me an example of a TV drama that didn't have over the top stuff happen pretty regularly.
There's a lot of good in this show, some strong character development, and some meaningful issues.

Rebecca dies surrounded by her family with Randall and Kevin holding her hands. At the same moment, Baby Hope is born. Cue “And When I Die” by Blood, Sweat and Tears
And when I die and when I'm gone,
There'll be one child born and a world to carry on, to carry on
OMG thats why Kate, kids aren't there! they're at the hospital with Jack and wife!

Isn't Rebecca's deathbed scene not that far into the future? Kevin's twins are still kids, so Jack would still be a kid too, since he's only a year older.

Is she only allowed to have a storyline insofar as it is about her fatness? Would that be more interesting to you? Or is she just supposed to fade into the background and be The Fat Sibling with No Story Any Longer?
I get that you want her to lose weight by any means, but that's not happening. So in a narrative sense, what do you do with her character?
