I wonder if it’s an RIO mommy that wants the focus off of how Crossfield got to stay at Oakton. Talk about being nowhere near the school! Let’s talk about Crossfield, shall we?
Telling people not to talk about your neighborhood's bribery is a sure fire way to keep the conversation front and center.
+1. The situation with Walney Oaks is very suspect. Who pulled strings for that neighborhood?

Since FCPS has decided to throw Westfield under the bus, all of Brookfield will be moved back to Chantilly and Westfield will be left with 1700 students. The BRES apartment building Seema personally arranged to have moved out of Centreville HS will stay moved out, as that was obviously a personal favor done for her.
The Oak Hill walkers will be moved to stay with the rest of Oak Hill.
Fox Mill will be at Skyview.

Though you are correct on most points, Carson is the official middle school assigned to the Oakton pyramid.
I've never seen that listed anywhere.
Look on the FCPS pyramid locator page.

If the school board wanted true pyramids they would have encouraged the adjustments at all three levels , elementary, middle and high school. To your point at the last meeting. You want to ask is there an assigned middle school but don’t want the superintendent to make true changes. This will be another messed up boundary because they won’t allow the professionals the freedom to work properly. Too many people just trying to fight for what they want rather than the greater good.
Seriously?
Carson is going to feed Skyview. The ESs are right by Skyview, the boundary is going to make sense and will be reasonably compact. The pyramid they are building makes total sense. And everyone has been discussing it since the school was purchased. It has been 9 months and a few days before the last map is going to be published she asks that question?
The issue is really what is Oakton’s MS because it had been Carson. Oakton’s boundaries make 0 sense but the school board doesn’t want to address that.
They don’t need to make many adjustments to the ES boundaries in the Skyview area. Apparently Floris is getting crowded but Fox Mill has space and is on the boundary with Floris, so they could move kids from the local neighborhood from Floris into Fox Mill. Crossfield has space if there are schools that are crowded in the area.
